Over the past months, our team has been attending monthly events specializing in marketing. We wanted to get insights from the industry on trends and best practices. Of all the monthly events that we attended, we narrowed it down to 2 events that we considered the best. These are IMMAP General Monthly Meeting and PMA General Monthly Meeting.
IMMAP (Internet Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines) normally conducts monthly meeting within Makati and BGC. IMMAP is known to hold learning seminars regarding digital marketing. This group is the one who launched Digicon 2018, the largest and the best digital conference in Manila.
This includes latest trends such as influencer marketing, performance versus brand marketing and other digital advertising learnings. These meetings are usually attended by medium to large companies and large agencies. They have a pretty high profile sets of speakers ranging from
What I like about their sessions is that it discusses the best practices for digital marketing in the industry. You get to learn what the experience of brands and agencies. You get to see very creative implementation of digital marketing in the brand perspective. We really dig the insights of the industry how brands are addressing the ever-changing needs of the consumer.
To be able to attend these events, your company needs to be a certified member of IMMAP.
PMA (Philippines Marketing Association) also conducts general monthly meetings within Metro Manila. PMA is known to conduct learning sessions dedicated to the different facets of marketing. It touches both traditional and digital. These meetings are attended by small to medium companies and agencies.
Their learning sessions discuss trends and experience from marketing professionals across different industries. Here are some topics that they covered: the right CMO mindset, relations marketing, etc.
What I like about their sessions is the idea it is multi-faceted. It covers different segments ranging from event marketing, digital, OOH, etc. The learnings can also be applied to traditional businesses and startups.
To attend their event, you can pay 1,500 per session. It is free if you pay their annual membership
Which is Better?
It really depends actually, if your company focuses highly on digital I recommend you go with IMMAP. You’ll learn alot on sophisticated approaches big brands are doing to win customer hearts. I really appreciate how they emphasize on the value of content on top of using digital. IMMAP GMM also showcases tech trends. If your company is looking for first mover advantage, this is a good event.
If your company is not that digital centric, meaning you mix traditional advertising with digital. I recommend you check PMA. PMA sessions covers the fundamentals of marketing as a whole.
For me, both groups offer value to marketers and entrepreneurs. If you have the budget, it would be best you attend both. You get to meet cool speakers, learn a lot of stuff and mingle with marketers across different industries.
